A Bit About the DR Congo!

The Christ’s Hope Ministry CareCenter is in Kinshasa, the capital and largest city of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Situated along the Congo River, Kinshasa is a bustling and densely populated city, known for its vibrant culture, music, and markets. The climate is tropical, with temperatures typically ranging from the mid-70s to the high 80s, accompanied by heavy seasonal rains.

Despite its energy and growth, Kinshasa faces significant challenges, particularly in impoverished areas like Camp Luka. Here, 92% of households survive on less than $1.90 a day, and more than half of the community is affected by HIV. Tragically, one in seven children does not live past the age of five. Many homes are constructed from makeshift materials, lacking proper sanitation, and families struggle daily to access food, clean water, and healthcare.
